Important Info for Monday’s Meet
Good Morning, Team!
Candlewyck just sent their information over so we wanted to get it to you asap. Below you’ll find details from their team rep about the Candlewyck swim meet tomorrow, Monday June 5. It is near the Arboretum.
As Coach Harry requested, please sign up for our open volunteer spots through Swimtopia. We can help you and teach you what to do if you are unsure! If you have questions about a certain volunteer position, feel free to send me an email :). (Just in case Swimtopia replys aren’t coming through, my personal email is [email protected]). We have a great group this year and lots of parents always offering their help, which we are so grateful for!
A few reminders:
Please arrive at the meet by 5:15!
-bring chairs to sit on
-bring snacks/water/food for your swimmer and yourself, and Candlewyck will have a concession stand
-the swimmers will be sitting together with their age group and they must stay there so they are ready to be lined up for their events (myself and the clerk of course helpers will be lining them up). Swimmers can not sit with their parents or they will miss their events.
-don’t forget to wear your team shirt or orange to support the Tiger Sharks!
Info from Candlewyck:
Here is some info to help you know about our team and the meet.
- We have approximately 70 swimmers on our team roster.
- We will look to combine relay heats where possible and will usually only combine with similarly aged relays (11-12 Girls Medley, 11-12 Boys Medley).
- We will have one timer from each team per lane and one head timer as a backup.
- We have dive blocks on the deep end (9 feet) of the pool and will do IN WATER STARTS for our shallow side of the pool. This means that all 8 & U relays and 9-10 relays will have their 2nd and 4th legs start from the water.
- Your team will begin warm-ups will be from 5:35 pm - 5:50 pm
Volunteer positions needed from your team:
- 6 timers per half – please bring your own watches.
- Clerk of course person to help place kids in the correct order
- 1 ribbon person for labels and filing
- 2 stroke & turn judges
- Computer person to help read times to our computer person
We normally switch out volunteers after event 32 if you wish to do the same.
We will have a timer and stroke and turn meeting in the clubhouse for volunteers at approximately 5:40. An announcement will be made prior to those meetings to come to the club house.
We have a small parking lot, so parking on the street is suggested.
We have a concession stand that has water, other drinks, candy, popcorn and Italian ice. They accept credit/debit, venmo and cash.
We will have a food truck, Sandwich Express, available for dinner.
